2014 Reserve Shiraz Viognier
Shiraz-Viognier has evolved a great deal since it started appearing in earnest in Australia from around 2002. Originally an idea born out of good husbandry – why throw away the white, pressed skins when they can be added to the red ferment? – Viognier lends a perfumed elegance to the wine that goes beyond the nose alone, but stops short of dominating the palate. Delicious, with a hint of white pepper and musk.

Good colour; the expressive and fragrant bouquet leads into a medium to full-bodied palate rich in dark berry fruits, the texture softened to an extent by the viognier, ripe but gentle tannins and integrated oak all contributing to an exceptionally balanced and inviting palate.

97% Shiraz, 3% Viognier
There is an exotic touch to this blend that makes it a great choice for a celebration - a Christmas Turkey; a glazed ham or even a haunch of venison. We think a goose, complete with lemon, thyme and a tray-full of roasted, garlic cloves is a pretty good option!!
